Mental Health: a Crisis of Madness

INTRODUCTION

Seclusion

Shut the door. Go into the backroom of prayer. Depart from worldly demands calling you into conformity. You are meant to be separate. Erase fancy definitions softening the fallen nature. Start over and simply study the Scriptures. Let the examination begin.

Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. Isaiah 26:20

Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD. Isaiah 52:11

Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction. Micah 2:10

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 2 Corinthians 6:17

Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? 2 Corinthians 13:5

Ask Yourself

Ask yourself. Are any secular standards anchoring into your soul? Unclean habits having their way? If so, worldliness has gained the popular vote. Demon spirits are elected to officiate at your dinner. Imagine your soul devouring sin’s delicacies while passing up the dish of new life. Sound too radical coming from a conservative soul? Let the Word answer.

Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them. Isaiah 42:9

Confusion and Chaos

Consuming sin swallows the mind into confusion and chaos. The author of peace is pushed out while madness, better known as a mental health crisis, begins. Certainly, this isn’t God’s choice for anyone. And yet, covenant love can’t be constrained without sin serving its curse. How can His promises operate when unbelief signs the treatment plan? Impossible. Honoring the right of refusal, the Father sets His children free to choose. Independence grabs pride and off they go. The team likes the sense of being in control. Flying out from the secret place is risky and for some it seems fun. Until they land. Setting up traps, Satan’s forces are ready to ravish their souls.

The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart. Deuteronomy 28:28

The Lord hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit. Isaiah 19:14

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. 1 Corinthains 14:33

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. Romans 1:28

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed beasts, and creeping things. Romans 1:21-23

They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end. Psalm 107:27

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie. 2 Thessalonians 2:10-11

Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel. Proverbs 20:17

And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35

For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Romans 14:17

For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. 2 Corinthians 1:20

And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. Matthew 13:58

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1

Jealous Love

While the evil spirit snares, the Father waits. After all, He is the one who reigns over the universe with full custody of His children. Jealous love won’t settle for Satan getting his way. God is determined to set their souls out of the fowler’s trap. On the sidelines, saints are positioned and assigned to intercede.

And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him. Isaiah 30:18

Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 124:7-8

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. Psalm 91:3

Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly. Hebrews 13:8

Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. James 5:14

Believing Bystanders

These faithful bystanders observe the entrapment of fellow believers and pray. They gleaned early on the importance of patience. As the Father waits for His children to ask, believers are to wait for His hand to open Heaven’s storehouse. To ignore Jesus, the key to this inherited treasure, is puzzling. Sadly, they see the cause. Unbelief keeps turning stiff necks unto secular methods. Accepting this lower level of care has its own consequences.

The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. Deuteronomy 28:12

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Matthew 16:19

That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:2-3

But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction. Jeremiah 17:23

Consequential Grief

Therefore, it is of no surprise for the hurt, disappointment and downright anger this betrayal of trust fosters within the Father’s heart. He weeps for the flock, wandering from grace-filled pastures into lands of familiar spirits.

And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation. Luke 19:41-44

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not. Luke 13:34

Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.Leviticus 19:31

Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all. Romans 4:16

Jesus Runs

Relentless love presents ongoing opportunities for a reunion. The Father won’t leave His watch post until every son and daughter comes home. Fellow believers join the vigilance. Luminaries line the road as the Lord Jesus runs after these lost sheep.  If only they look toward the gate before a crisis begins. Time is imminent to find the old path of rest. Christ lifts their burdens through the Word, guiding weary minds to where the good way exists.

What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. John 15:4-5

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Jeremiah 6:16

And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. Isaiah 11:2

The Message of a Mental Health Crisis

A Toe Into The Danger Zone

One welcome wave to worldliness is a toe into the danger zone. Once the feet hike outside the protective walls of Kingdom living, the mind becomes open prey. Prioritizing personal affairs without your first love falls neatly into Satan’s flight plan. Swirling in the air are principalities and powers looking for a landing space. Waiting for weak minds, the wizards are dressed in professional attire ready to assist you. Seeking strength through Satan’s subtle solutions can be seen in small and big choices. Who decides your diet… models your fashion… is your go to when finances fail… health goes south… marriage fractures… children rebel… friends betray… churches become stale… bodies age…?

Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Revelation 2:4

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12

Dappling in the Devil’s Territory

If the Father isn’t on top of your pyramid’s problems, the crucified, dead old man has risen in rivalry. This battle gets ugly when you’re not on victory’s side. The quagmire starts when believers dapple in the devil’s territory, knowing full well the war for their minds has been won. Ill-equipped, ignorance walks into land mines of lies without the armor of the Word. These know-it-all attitudes are growing out of grace and into insanity.

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. Romans 6:6

And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. Galatians 5:24

And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. Romans 8:10

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:11

Evolving Out of God’s Wisdom

Has mankind enjoyed evolving out of God’s wisdom? Society is reaping more misery through modernism. On the surface, Sheikh and sleek, yet living as peasants dullened to joy. The real crisis is the number of subservient minds kidnapped by Satan. When intelligence interferes with the Spirit, schoolcraft casts its sphere of influence. Godliness changes into deviance. It burns worldly images into minds with wicked branding irons. Vulnerable souls are drawn into the Devil’s duet, entertaining sin on various stages. Worshipping earthen talent, entertainment, athletes, actors and actresses, models, success, family, money, musicians, education, self and artificial intelligence is no different than practicing witchcraft. It’s a look at me generation, gluttoned in ungodliness. When anything supersedes the Savior, troubled waters are stirred. What is unseen is underrated to a level of nonexistence. Faith becomes a fast moving train out of the heart.

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8

Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail. Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. Isaiah 47:12-13

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19-21

Restless Demons

The invisible world exists. Flirting with familiar spirits spreads outside séance walls and into city streets. Restless demons search for dry, open minds. Should one be scared? No. These are peons put under God’s control and have no access into God’s secret place. This is why believers are to stay sheltered in the Lord. He offers guardrails of peace and guaranteed protection under the shadow of His wings. Trust in God is all it takes to ward evil off.

When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Matthew 12:43

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Psalm 91: 1-2

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, nor the arrow that flieth by day. Psalm 91:4-5

A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but is shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD,, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. Psalm 91:7-9

Behold, they are all vanity; their works are nothing: their molten images are wind and confusion. Isaiah 41:29

Full Exposure

Therefore, without fear, lift the lid on your life decisions and expose them to Christ. Before a side wind blows, request wisdom from the Lord. Entrust every thought and move unto the Father who foresees your future. His enlightenment will gently place you into His will and exterminate oppressive lies.

Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death. Psalm 13:3

The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.Psalm 19:8

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. Ephesians 1:18

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. John 16:13

Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.Deuteronomy 33:29

Dusty Trail and Rotten Seeds

During these end times, proceed with extreme caution. Don’t stumble out of God’s prosperous plan. Always remember, on the opposite side is a dusty trail where Satan never stops planting rotten seeds. His piercing tongue hungerly awaits for the harvest to feed more havoc. The entire process births from a single thought; building beliefs contrary to Christ and ending in a mental breakdown.

And many among them shall stumble; They shall fall and be broken, Be snared and taken. Isaiah 8:15

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11

The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered.Joel 1:17

This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead. Ecclesiastes 9:3

Conclusion

Danger Zone

Stepping outside the Lord’s door lies a segue into disorder. It is a danger zone where the devil creates his own music. Harmonize with his world and hell will break forth. Bursting the eardrums, discernment is left tone deaf. It is serious when the symphony of disorder takes over the Christian’s sound system. Rather, heed God’s prophets who send out a scroll of rescue. Risk not the delusion in joining pride’s rebellion. Partial obedience is disobedience. Fully return to your Father’s rest. Surrender effort unto grace by presenting your entire temple to God. Yes, body, mind and spirit. Christ alone promises to restore your ruins; fashioning futility into His perfect will. With repentance in place, remain in the Spirit’s purity while truth pulls the plug on society’s pollution.

And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness. And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not. And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them. Ezekiel 33:31-33

Therefore have I also made you contemptible and base before all the people, according as ye have not kept my ways, but have been partial in the law. Malachi 2:9

Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established. Proverbs 16:3

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:1-2

The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. Psalm 12:6-7

Unconventional

Granted, this is not the modern or secular approach to a sound mind. Healthcare professionals generally won’t consider sin as a catalyst in disorders. Therefore, considering confession to be part of the cure is viewed fanatic. Throw demonic possession onto their clipboards and see professionals flip out and faint. While this is a spiritual problem, secularism hasn’t discernment into these matters. Living in the land of chaos and crisis is a wilderness and never the will of God. So choose wisely. Christ is the treatment and cure for good mental health.

When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby. Ezekiel 33:18

For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 2 Peter 2:20

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16

He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Proverbs 28:13

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

The truthful lip shall be established forever, But a lying tongue is but for a moment. Proverbs 12:19

For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16
