Problems or Possibilities

Christmas, is it Hallmark magic or the manger’s miracle which encourage you? While it is entertaining to watch the hardships unfold in Hallmark, the channel can’t stream miracles into your moaning heart. Only when looking into the manger, possibility meets the light. Hiding within swaddling clothes, answers await. Listen to Mary, the mother who believed the impossible. Birthing a baby, not for herself, but for the world. She not only pondered on the possibilities within her baby, but believed He had power to perform them. This is not just a Christmas story to share, but for you to possess. Mary may have held Jesus in her arms, but He chose to nestle inside your heart. Certainly, with Christ, His possibilities leave no question mark. He promises to bring life changing solutions to your problems today.

And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. Lk. 2:19

For with God nothing shall be impossible. And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. Lk. 1:37-38

And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord. Lk. 1:45

Power is Possibility

Draw further encouragement from the word possible. In the Greek, it means dunamai, power, mighty, capable, able and strong. Upon further study, possible in Lk. 18:27 (and in Mt. 19:26, Mk. 9:23, Mk. 10:27, Mk. 14:36) and mighty in 2 Cor. 10:4, share the Greek word: dunamai.

The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. Lk. 18:27

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. 2 Cor. 10:4

Gaze into the manger again through the eyes of a mother. Mary was not just looking at her son, but knew Him to be the Son of God, mighty in power and purpose. Eternal life arrived, mighty in word and deed. He was called to earth to satisfy sin’s debt and cancel Satan’s rule.  Mary saw beyond the manager to the manifestation of His power.  So too, never lose sight, within the Son of God are no limitations. Knowing the devil’s powers are destroyed, trust there are no obstacles His Word can’t remove.

And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all people. Lk. 24:19

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil. Heb. 2:14

Conclusion

Now when you come to the cradle, lay your troubles inside the swaddling clothes. Entrust them all into the heart of Christ, for He already carried them to the cross. Your miracle is already here, not in the magic of a movie, but in the Word and your believing heart. I hope you share Mary’s perspective on your problems after our visit to the manger.  Although the Son of God left this cave to be crucified and laid in a tomb, He has carried you to His throne of victory. Don’t hesitate and bear your burdens anymore. Boldly come and Jesus will hush your cries by creating possibilities out of your problems.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Heb. 4:16

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. Eph. 3:20
